Bazi Khooni (فیلم بازی خونی)Bazi Khooni is an Iranian historical drama directed by Hossein Mirzamohammadi and produced by Saeed Parvini. Inspired by events from Iran’s contemporary history, the film combines suspense, action, and human conflict within the tense atmosphere of the early 1980s.
In the autumn of 1981, a mysterious armed group begins operating in the forests surrounding Amol. As reports of violence and civilian casualties spread, Ahmad and his companions enter the forest to confront the threat.
What initially appears to be a straightforward security mission soon becomes far more complicated. The group encounters uncertainty, hidden motives, and difficult decisions that challenge its members’ judgment. As the danger grows, Ahmad must separate facts from assumptions while protecting the people around him.
Rather than presenting the conflict only through action scenes, Bazi Khooni explores the personal pressure placed on individuals during a period of political instability. The story examines loyalty, courage, responsibility, and the consequences of making emotional decisions in a dangerous situation.
Arastoo Khoshrazm leads the cast, alongside Payam Ahmadinia, Sara Hatami, Kaysan Dibaj, Majid Aghakarimi, Majid Pataki, Mahyar Shapouri, Sadegh Barghaei, Mohammad Movahednia, Alireza Gilouri, Linda Kiani, and Shadi Mokhtari.
The screenplay was written by Masoud Hasheminejad and builds its dramatic conflict around a real period in modern Iranian history. The film is Mirzamohammadi’s second feature after Leather Jacket Man.
The film may appeal to viewers interested in Iranian historical dramas, politically charged stories, and suspenseful narratives based on real events. Its forest setting creates a tense atmosphere, while the characters’ moral choices give the story a more personal dimension.
Bazi Khooni offers a dramatic interpretation of a complicated historical episode and focuses on the people caught between duty, fear, and uncertainty.
