Gharizeh (Instinct) (فیلم غریزه)Instinct is an Iranian romantic drama directed and produced by Siavash Asadi. Written by Siavash Asadi and Nima Naderi, the film presents a nostalgic story about youth, cinema, love, and the lasting effects of a painful event.

Story

Set in Iran during the late 1960s, the story follows two teenagers whose lives are shaped by an intense first love. Kamran is a young man fascinated by cinema and the colorful world it creates. His passion introduces Atiyeh, a sixteen-year-old girl, to dreams and experiences beyond her familiar surroundings.

Their relationship develops during a period when Iranian society is caught between long-established traditions and rapid cultural change. For the young couple, love represents freedom, discovery, and the possibility of choosing a different future.

However, an unexpected tragedy suddenly changes their path. The hopes they once shared are replaced by separation, regret, and decisions that continue to influence their lives for years. The story examines how a brief but powerful relationship can remain alive through memory, even when circumstances make a shared future impossible.

Cast and Production

The film introduces Sina Rouhani and Mahdiar Shahmohammadi as the two young central characters. Its cast also includes Amin Hayai, Pantea Panahiha, Zhaleh Sameti, Farhad Sharifi, Afshin Sangchap, Pardis Pourabedini, and Reza Kord.

The period setting and strong visual focus help create a romantic atmosphere shaped by cinema, nostalgia, and unresolved emotion.

Why Watch it?

Instinct is suitable for viewers who enjoy character-driven romantic dramas and stories about the emotional consequences of the past.
