Qostantaniye (فیلم قسطنطنیه)Ghostantanieh is an Iranian-Turkish comedy directed by Karim Amini and produced by Amin Reza Chalabianlou. Written by Majid Mafi and Karim Amini, the film combines travel, romance, financial ambition, and cultural misunderstandings in a fast-moving story set largely in Turkey.
During the difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of ordinary Iranians face financial problems after losing their money in a failed scheme. Determined to recover their losses and improve their lives, they travel to Turkey under the pretext of receiving vaccinations.
Their apparently simple journey soon becomes far more complicated. Ismail and his companions find themselves caught between suspicious plans, unexpected relationships, personal secrets, and a growing series of misunderstandings. Their desire to make quick money leads them into situations they are poorly prepared to handle.
As their plans begin to collapse, the group must deal with the consequences of their choices. What starts as a financial adventure gradually develops into a chaotic international story involving love, deception, and an embarrassing public scandal.
Pejman Jamshidi leads the cast as Ismail. The ensemble also includes Ilay Erkök, Gholamreza Nikkhah, Bijan Banafshekhah, Naeimeh Nezamdoost, Narges Mohammadi, Houman Haji Abdollahi, Ali Oji, Mostafa Kırantepe, and Nazanin Solhjoo.
Filming in Turkey gives the movie a distinctive cross-cultural setting and supports its mixture of romantic comedy and travel adventure.
The film is suitable for viewers who enjoy Iranian ensemble comedies built around travel, mistaken intentions, and characters searching for an easy solution to difficult problems.
Its international setting, recognizable cast, and combination of romance and situational humor offer a lighthearted look at ambition, dishonesty, friendship, and the unpredictable consequences of chasing sudden wealth.
