Roshan (فیلم روشن)Roshan, also known internationally as Bright House, is an Iranian social drama written and directed by Rouhollah Hejazi. The film presents an emotional portrait of a struggling middle-aged man whose personal dreams and family life are close to collapse.

Story

Roshan is a forty-year-old man who loves acting but has never achieved the success he imagined. He has no stable employment, faces serious financial difficulties, and is still waiting to receive a home he purchased through a housing cooperative.

Years of uncertainty have damaged Roshan’s marriage. His wife, Maryam, asks for a divorce and receives custody of their daughter. Realizing that he may lose his family completely, Roshan decides that he must finally take responsibility and prove that he can change.

Unable to solve his problems through ordinary means, he begins treating his life like a performance. His acting ability becomes a tool for confronting the people and institutions he believes have ignored him. However, the choices he makes create new risks and force him to examine the difference between playing a convincing role and making a genuine change.

Cast and Production

Reza Attaran plays Roshan, with Sara Bahrami and Siamak Ansari in other leading roles. The cast also includes Mehdi Hosseinina and Masoud Mirtaheri.

The film was produced by Javad Norouzbeigi and Rouhollah Hejazi. Its realistic atmosphere and character-focused storytelling explore the effects of poverty, unemployment, and housing insecurity on an ordinary family.
